OUR LEGACY · SINCE 1962

From Phoolbagh to four stores: our traditional journey

A family story that began in 1962, carried forward through three generations in Kanpur.

Pahalwan Ji mattha tradition

1962 · A small beginning in Phoolbagh

Our story began in 1962, when our grandfather started serving fresh mattha and traditional breakfast from a street-side stall in Phoolbagh, Kanpur. It was a modest beginning built around familiar flavours and the people who returned to enjoy them.

The second generation · Carrying the tradition forward

Our father carried the family business into its next chapter. Mattha, bread makhan and the everyday breakfast ritual remained at the heart of the journey, connecting one generation of the family with the next.

The third generation · A new chapter

Today, grandsons Vipin Shukla and Nikhil Shukla are taking the legacy forward. The family story now connects four Kanpur locations: Phoolbagh, Jajmau, Kidwai Nagar and Ratan Lal Nagar.

Familiar flavours, more ways to enjoy them

Classic, mint and masala mattha sit alongside bun makhan and bread makhan in our brand menu. Our A2 cow ghee collection brings another part of the Pahalwan Ji pantry to customers at home, with pack sizes from ½ kg to 10 kg.

The journey continues

From a small stall to a new generation of stores and online ordering, our story is still being written. Visit a store, explore our breakfast favourites or take a little of the tradition home.
